After a successful international event under the patronage of WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros and Federal Health Minister Lauterbach in Berlin last year, the Sepsis Foundation is organizing another full-day event on September 12th in Berlin (both on-site and online), in collaboration with the DeutschlandErkenntSepsis alliance, as well as the GSA and the European Sepsis Alliance.
On the initiative of the German Federal Government, the World Health Assembly adopted the Sepsis Resolution in 2017. This fulfilled a key demand of the Global Sepsis Alliance and the Sepsis Foundation. This resolution calls for the integration of sepsis into national health systems. During the G7 German Presidency in 2022, the G7 Health Ministers renewed this demand.

The main objective of the event is to underline the urgent need for implementing the WHO's Sepsis Resolution's demands at the national and international levels. Beyond the scientific and medical exchange, an important goal is to sharpen awareness of the scale and challenges surrounding sepsis through dialogues among policymakers, health authorities, healthcare professionals, industry, and the public. Joint awareness of all stakeholders and civil society is essential to bring us closer to the target of zero preventable deaths from sepsis.

We hereby kindly request SIAARTI to officially endorse this year´s event and encourage your members and network to participate free of charge either online or in Berlin. In return for your promotional support, we will feature your organization on the event website. Please find the most recent information on the event here. For last year´s event we received 10 000 registrations from over 180 countries. Thus, this is a unique opportunity to communicate your organization's dedication to support the fight against this global health threat.
